Twenty-nine fellows from campuses across the SUNY system were selected for the 2026 class. 鈥淭he best part of the fellowship so far has been the space to reflect and grow alongside other leaders who are deeply committed to impact,鈥 said Ladd. 鈥淭hese honest conversations have pushed me to think beyond my current role and view leadership not just as a position, but as a responsibility to create access and belonging.鈥
SUNY鈥檚 Leadership Institutes incorporate the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Leadership Institute, Black Leadership Institute, Disability Support Leadership Institute, and Hispanic Leadership Institute. Fellows are selected based on proven leadership and administrative experience, as well as their dedication to pursuing higher education leadership roles within SUNY.
鈥淥ne of the most impactful aspects of the fellowship has been learning to lead strategically while staying grounded in purpose,鈥 Ladd said. 鈥淭he fellowship is helping me sharpen how I think about systems, equity, and long-term change.鈥
The fellowship will also have a direct impact on 含羞草传媒 and its students. 鈥淭his fellowship will help me lead with more clarity and purpose,鈥 Ladd said. 鈥淚 will gain tools to improve systems, strengthen collaboration across campus, and make decisions that support long term student success.
鈥淔or students, it means better support, clearer pathways, and stronger guidance from start to finish. I will be able to design efforts that increase retention, remove barriers, and help students feel seen, valued, and capable of reaching their goals.鈥
